09 May 2012 : May Update _ The rain has stopped and cricket has started

At last the season has started with mixed result but after 2 or 3 frustrating weekend we are at least playing so now all we have to do is start winning more often but that will come especially if we commit to practice

Practice

Training continues, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.30 onwards – the more we train the better we will get its that easy

Teamernet

An important change to teamernet this year is that we no longer get unlimited free texts, only 200 per month which should be enough if people respond and we don’t have to send reminders out .If we do as we have to at present then  we’ll have to buy additional text bundles which means less money to spend on cricket

Remember  reply immediately to any text .

If there’s a concern about your availability its your responsibility to contact either Stephen Dixon the match secretary or your team captain to discuss how we deal with it not the clubs to spend money chasing you around

If for example you won’t know until later in the week if your available or not, if we don’t know we can’t make arrangements to cover, which mean we waste money on follow on texts. It also could mean if you’re not available, one of your mates may not get a game because he’s made arrangements for the weekend on the basis that he’s not been selected.

Let’s not be selfish guys let’s get off our butts and keep the club up to date

Cut off point for Teamer text replies for those originally selected is 4.30 on a Wednesday afternoon

Stats on ESCA Site

The new online match return means that the ESCA top performer stats are bang up to date

For example Dermott has the highest score in the Division so far this year and a number of other are in and around the top 10 batting and bowling .

Let’s not get hung up about personal stats but if we can get 2 or 3 in the top 10 of batting and bowling in both divisions  then there’s no doubt we’ll have a successful season
